Today I picked up my backrest pad kit for my 2012 Street Glide. It is supposed to come with 3 long spacers and 3 short spacers. Mine came with 4 short and 2 long spacers. I'm hoping I can simply pick one up at the local dealer for a couple of bucks. Just curious if anyone else had this issue. The long spacers are part number 51593-05.
TSI, Gengras and Yankee all show as having in stock. Speaking of Gengras, I'll be there this weekend for the annual Brian Aselton ride as I do every year.
So I am not loosing my mind...... the passanger back rest on my 09 Street glide, seems about an inch to wide on either side for the 4 point mounting bracket. I was wondering if there was any spacers for this thing.

Spacers are for mounting the pad to the bar. Not the bar to the hardware.
And why is there 3 short and 3 long...?
I just used the 3 long one's, should I have used all 6?
Also, the threads on the pad (nutserts) had what appeared to be hot clue all
jacked up in the threads, real fun diggin that out!
Anyway, just make sure the screws go in smooth...
The three long spacers are for attaching to the passenger upright (I believe both the regular and short sized uprights). The short spacers are for attaching to a luggage rack. So yes, there is only a need to use three, it's just a question of what you are attaching the pad to.
I could be wrong, but I assume the hot glue on the threads is actually some sort of loctite?

The pad mounted up nicely......but why such a big gap where the bar mounts up to the mounting hardware??
Is there a spacer kit for this? Only attaching a backrest.
Thanx

I see, so I must have the short spaces on then. I bought the bike used, so the dude must have hung onto the luggage rack.
I will have to see if the local dealer has a set of the longer spacers.
Thanx all.

The front dock point for the backrest is actually the shock mount. So once on the bike the rear dock point is not in use. Its for a tour pak.
