So the SE filter is ok for the 88, but a different cover that will let air enter the filter more diectly would be better than the football cover.

i am not sure about CFM of anything, but i installe dthe big sucker stage II and i can hear the throttle body breathing like there isnt even a filter covering it, sounds like its wide open, so it must be flowin good i would assume. seems like anyhting would be a vast improvement over the stock filter and football. just my opinion though.

The reason I switched to a K&N filter was because of reading about the stock HD paper filters falling apart.

my sig pic has my original football cover just sitting over the stage 2......the billet cover for the stage 2is on its way to me right now, i didnt want the full "bowl style" (first pic)i just wanted the "lid" so to speak(second pic)....it leaves the element exposed and i want to powdercoat it also.
got the stage 2 kit (minus the cover) on ebay for 85 bucks brand new.

Oops, I was off a tad, the best price I found was at Phat Perfomance parts for $195. And It is on it's way. Thanx for helping me decide.

...or just a Screamin Eagle backing plate with a K&N or Zippers filter and use HD Breather center medallion alone for that "nekkid" look..a lot cheaper and looks pretty clean. You can even get SE backing plate in chrome or black for bout $40 bucks.

Finally got my Big Sucker Stage II in and installed. Haven't been able to ride it yet, been working a lot to pay for the goodies and besides it is colder that the proverbial witches $%^ (anatomical part of the body that I probably can't name in this forum). Anyway here are some photos I took, and yes my ride is filthy and yes when it gets above freezing I will clean it. I am posting a link to my photos on Photo Bucket's site so I don't waste space on the Forums server. I have never used this site before so if it doesn't turn out right please be patient and I will try again.
