1999 Road King problems
I've got a 99 Road King Classic with just a bit over 50,000 miles on her. Last year I blew a front head gasket and during the repair had most of the engine torn down and gone over.
Now I'm having another problem. Cruising down the road and the bike will just shut down. She's keeping headlight power and console power however. The "ENGINE" light remains on for lengthy periods but when checking the 10 codes...everything is clear.
From trying to figure out...it looks like power is good and we have spark, so would the problem be fuel related? She goes out at different speeds and there are no signs other than getting a dead stick.
Thanks.

fuel injected?
if it is....fuel filter/pump?....I did my fuel filter at 17K.....is there less fuel in the tank when it cuts out?
ECM cutting out/going bad, ecm connection plug getting corroded/wet?
battery loose, bad connection.

If fuel injected remove the gas cap while running. If you see bubbles in the gas it could be the gas line in the tank has a hole in it. After it gets so low it starts sucking air and cuts out.
+1 my 99 ultra did this...now it has a carb.
Consider review and rule-out "Bank Angle Sensor"..
Sensor cuts-off motor if the bike falls over as a safety issue BUT 1999 had a known problem with sensor positioning/bracket that caused it to cut-off motor...look at old Evel Knievel youtube videos when he would wreck and bike would remain stuck at wide-open throttle while on its side with rear tire whirling away..Now modern bikes have sensor that cuts off motor to prevent this situation and possibly reduce injuries.
It would feel like they hit the run/stop switch while going down the road but lights would remain on.

Just did the "bubble check" in the gas tank, and I couldn't see any.
Hopefully a friend, with better knowledge and tools than I, is coming over tonight to see if we can pull the fuel filter.
Thanks for the continued advice.
