Default Tool Kit?

Just bought a 2008 Ultra Classic and am wondering if anyone sells a toolkit with tools just for bikes. What I mean is you can go to Lowes or Sears and buy toolkits but some of the tools you'll never use. I'm looking for a toolkit that has all of the odd sized torx/allen wernches that the bikes use.

Also, recommendations for a 1/4" drive torque wrench for the in/lb settings. I'm not too confident in Harbor Freight....

actually if you read the reviews, the harbor freight torque wrenches fare pretty good. a lot of times better than the 'big' names like craftsman.

the best way to go about it is to build your own. what i do is whenever i work on the bike, i break out the bike toolkit. if i need a tool to do a job, i get it out of my toolbox, then i ask myself, is this something that i could conceivably have to do on the road. if the answer is yes, then i leave it in my bike kit and buy a new one for the toolbox.

you really don't need that much. a few sockets, mostly sae with a couple of metric thrown in, couple of screwdrivers, couple extensions, some combo wrenches, hex keys, torx drivers esp. t27, some zip ties, a tire plug kit, co2 or mini compressor, duct tape, bailing wire, couple extra fuses, and light bulbs.

in 10 years, i have only needed my toolkit once for myself, a 1/2'' wrench to take the top locking plate off my kickstand to replace the spring. have needed it countless times for other people though

A tool kit that will outlast you , and every bike you own, is the snap-on road side kit, I have one, and I love it.
Buy it off a truck, and you may be able to get the price down a bit , I did.

Built my own. Had the wife sew up an old pant leg. Threw in a set of wrenches and a couple of sockets and phillips screwdrivers Bought two of those small fold up sets similar to what they put in the new UC Limited etc., One has Allen keys and the other has Torx keys. I have used mine once on my own bike to re-install my jiffy stand spring. I have used it a fair amount on other's rides.

The snap on a little pricey but well worth it.

Bought every tool necessary (all in snapon kit and more) from Harbor Freight... threw it all in an army canvas tool bag... fits in my saddlebag, and didn't cost anywhere near $259+
