So I'm up here in Nova Scotia and my gas light comes on. I've got 165 miles on the tank on my 2006 FLHTCI. I desperately look for a gas station in a very rural area. I finally find one and fill my tank. I put in 5 gals (18.94 liters.) Now I've been averaging 40 mpg for the last 1500 miles, after a six-speed conversion and true duals. Turns out that the bike only holds 5 gallons, 18.94 liters, according to specs. My mileage "dropped" to 34 mpg.

Ya think the pump was gimmicked?

 

Sounds like you were about out of gas! What do you mean by "gimmicked"? Did you run the same quality fuel? Did altitude change? We're you riding hilly roads?
