I've got a 2012 EGC and it runs hot too. With temps in the upper 90's the past 2 weeks I've really noticed it, the heat is just about too much when sitting in traffic. Mine has gone into parade mode a few times at stop lights. This weekend I installed the FL-ViED-10 from nightrider and can't believe the difference it made. The bike runs way cooler, smooth acceleration, just all-around better running.

Dealer: That's normal.
Questions?

How did it increase pressure. In order to increase pressure there are 2 things you can do. Either restrict flow by putting something in the way of the oil passage or increase flow by installing a lager volume oil pump.
Low pressure on the twin cams at long idle times is normal because the oil gets super headed and thins. The volume is still high though.
So from your post I think you are saying you restricted flow to achieve that elevated oil pressure. Probably not a good idea.
If low oil pressure scares you try running a 60 grade oil. It thins less at those higher summer temps.

Your cam plate has a pressure relief valve....

There are a few different versions of the pressure relief valve mod. some use stonget springs, some use a metal spacer on your existing spring which results in a stiffer spring functionality. The presure relief valve modification raises the bikes PSI by delaying the point in which oil is releved thru the valve.

These things have been in use for decades.....

So I am to assume that you can not ever get stuck in traffic when it is hot out on the $25K motorcycle from Harley?

When the dealer deliver mine (yup, to the front door) he explained when stuck in traffic or at idle the gauge will drop to what looks like 0, the engine only needs 1 to 2 psi at that point and not to freak out when it happens.

Has anyone else tried the FL-ViED-10 from Nightrider, they make some great claims, wonder if it is worth the investment and what does it do to the warranty?

I am instaling Harley Part # 91196-08 Fan kit for Touring Models to help out when stuck in heavy traffic on my 2012 FLHX!
