Default what makes a bagger a bagger

it seems like the latest trend is to put fiberglass bags on any bike and market it as a bagger. all the magazines are showing is a chopper with bags on it and calling it the next best thing. shouldnt a bagger have a fairing of some sort on it. im not upset just curious what everyone else thinks.

mmmmm? and I thought it was called a bagger because of the ol' lady on the back

Bagger refers to touring class bike with saddlebags. I guess if you had a fairing and bags you could call it a fair bagger! A Road King is considered a bagger and they don't have fairings. Anything that has bags and is good for long trips.....choppers with bags, now that ain't a bagger and never will be

Sorry guys, I didn't get the memo about needing a fairing to be a bagger. I will respectfully withdraw my citizenship from Bagger Nation

NOT !!!! [sm=boink3.gif]

Citizenship in Bagger Nation = No Fairings required. If I wanted plastic on the front end, I'd have bought an Ultra.

I can remember when what we call a bagger used to be called a dresser. What is now an Ultra would have been a Full Dresser. The lines are starting to blur as there are more and more combinations. Would a bagger with a mean old lady on back be a Nagger? One with soft leather bags a Sagger? One lowered in the rear a Dragger? One with George Michael riding bitch a .....well, you get it.

And the CD playing on the tune box would be Aerosmith's "Dude Looks Like a Lady".

dgator66,
I didn't understand my Ultra was a "bagger" untilI started reading this site. Only "bagger"I ever knew about was a "one bagger" or a "two bagger"(In case the first bag broke)

When I stopped by my moms on the way home with it, my older brother said "Nice Dresser", then jumped on and took it for a spin.

I find myself constantly "correcting" my longtime riding bro's when they refer to it as a "Full Dress E Glide", they just don't understand........but thenwe are from the "sticks".

I was wondering if the Heritage Softtail fit here. I'm glad to hear they don't.
