CFR KO Input
Need advise from those with experience. Have stage 1 with Fuel Moto air cleaner and PCV. I just switched from V & H twin ovals to CFR slip ons. I really like the sound of the CFR's but below 3000 rpm, they have no torque. I expected that with a straight thru pipe. My question is what to do next to bring back the low rpm torque. I am thinking for to install dresser duals or cams or both. Thoughts, experiences?
Sorry, should have told bike specs first. 2009 SG stock except air cleaner and exhaust. I ride 2 up most times and usually between 2500-3500 rpm.
Cam suggestions?

Sell the CFR knock offs. I like the sound of CFRs but I wouldn't own them. Too loud for everyday use and there is that torque problem you are having. They do sound good, what is that worth to you? They make pipe inserts to reduce the amount of torque loss from free flowing pipes. I don't remember where to get them or how much they change the sound, but I think that is about your only option. The real CFRs supposedly have fixed the low torque problem, that's what I have heard, I don't know if that is true of not. Give them a call and check it out, you might consider going with the originals.

He may have a baffle that will help your low end loss of TQ.

Cams would help with torque. They say dressers will lose some torque, but I didn't notice when I switched.
I understand Cary made a new style with a baffle to give some back pressure and help eliminate the torque dip

You would be surprised how little it takes to change the amount of power you get from a pipe. I had an 07 Street Glide with Rush w 2" baffle.. when I wrecked it the dealer that was doing the repair ordered the wrong pipes and I got it back with 2.5 baffle.... lost ALL torque at low end... had to get them to order the right pipes and got my punch back... The new bike I told them 2"... somewhere along the line I ended up with 2.25.. sounds pretty good.. lost just a touch of the quick snap torque of the 2' .. but still pulls...... reasonable. So, from my personal dealings in pipes.. I would say, anything over a 2" baffle you gain sound and lose low end torque.

Changing out the CVO SE Touring mufflers for CFRs on a completely stock 2012 RK, I did not notice any difference in low end torque loss. I ordered and installed mid-July, so they most likely have a the newer baffle. I recently ordered and received a PCV and air cleaner from FuelMoto as well but haven't gotten around to putting it on yet.
Power duals, not dresser duals, should help you regain some low end. Dresser duals are more for sound and looks, but with the right tune may improve some low end. Cams will obviously help as well.
