SE 6 Speed Question
Thanks AB. Not sure if I will go for it or not. I would most likely have my local Indy guy do it. He charges $40.00 and hour.
If you need a good Dyno Tuner come spring time, and you can make it to Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, look up Carl's Speed Shop. They are out of Daytona, Fla, if they tune you bike with the motor changes, it will be on the money and money well spent.

33102-03A SUPERKIT 00-LATER FXST, 01-LATER FLH 1$1599.96
This is fron Chicago HD. I have been told 8 hours for an Indy to do the job ($600-800). I will be doing it myself. If you decide on doing it yourself, I'll let you borrow my special tools that I bought.

Just wondering, what will the SE6 cost? Any idea how many hours of labor to do the install?

is the SE six speed a close ratio or a OD box?
and for the Hydraulic clutch, I have a Magura, ran me close to 350, is the best mod I've made to the bike, and I'll bet your clutch cable malfunctions from lubrication issues or acting as an engine ground before mine leaks. And since the Magura uses mineral oil there is no chance that if it should fail it will damage the paint.

I bought these tranny tools from Georges Garage:
580020 Primary Drive Locking Tool, All 24.00
620020 Trans Sprocket Locking Tool 70.95
620030 Mainshaft Sprocket Wrench 36-Pres, TC88 A & B 79.00
620060 Mainshaft Bearing Race Tool 84-Pres, TC88 A&B 109.50
620070 Main Drive Gear & Bearing Kit 116.95
You can get by without some of them but I wanted to make the job easier. Figured that I will use them again in the future.

I hope the 6 speed work out for you. I have been considering a 6 speed for my 01 Ultra. Was leaning towards the SE, but have also considered the DD6. My local dealer quoted me 1995.00 for the SE 6 speed. Total cost installed around 2700.00. I may want to order the SE 6 speed from Chicago HD. Are you ordering the complete transmission or the gear set? I just had S & S 510G cams installed do to tensioners and cams being worn. I want to drop the rpm's at touring speed on the interstate, always looking for the next gear. Let us know how it works out...this I am very interested in.
The SE price was just for the gearset. I would definately order from Chicago HD. I rarely buy anything from a local dealer just because I can save more online.
I just posted another thread. I ended up buying the DD6 from M&M for $1996.

You didn't know if your clutch was Hydraulic and you plan to install the gear set yourself...... I'm getting worried.
Are you going to need access to a press along with the tools you bought?
Anyway, good luck man. You got bigger ***** than me! Let us know how it comes out...

Hey we all make mistakes. Better to make mine before I start wrenching.
From what I have read so far, the tools that I bought should cover it. I'll be taking my time and will take several pictures. I'll post them with a writeup when finished.
