Default My Biketronics install

Well, I was told this was going to be an easy install, it looked like it until I took the faring off, see pics, after I repaired the hack job to the wiring harness by the previous owner it was a very easy install with good directions. I bought the Biketronics system from the Cycle Accessory Store, they had better prices with free shipping then Biketronics themselves. I upgraded to the Marine unit with no cd player, the stereo has a compartment inside of it that you put a ipod or mp3 player in and can play music that way, I like that better then carrying cd's, you flip the face open and a tray slides out, hook up your player, slide it in, close the face and jam, the hand controls also still work on the bike with this system. I also upgraded the speakers to 6.5 140 watt, those were the only 2 upgrades I made, the system sounded better then I expected, nice and clear up to 80mph, the stereo has many adjustments and functions, you can even hook up satellite radio, in all, a great product at a good price in my opinion.

Someone shoot that previous owner! There are so many options available these days to NOT hack up wiring on a bike, I simply don't understand why people continue to do it.

Do it right the first time.....

Good job by the way..

did you have to reset the radio after installation. I put one in a road glide i am building and it wont power up. I am thinking it is the main ground since i am waiting on my motor and the ground from the battery to the starter is not hooked up.

battery ground to starter? battery ground should be going to the frame somewhere and the battery + going to the starter

but yes that would be a problem in this scenario

No, after I repaired the hack job and got all the wires correct, was a pain, the guy had different colored wires connected to different wires, had to trace everyting out, reconnect and used heat shrink tubing, don't want to have to chase a loose connection. When all was fixed I turned on the bike to the acc position and the stereo came on, did not have to do anything, everything worked right away including the controls on the handlebars, is really a very good system, the controls allow you to adjust everything, not just volume or channels, you can adjust the equalizer and just about anything on the stereo. One thing I did notice, the auto volume control will change settings on the stereo if you are adjusting bass or treble or anything else if you are in that option, I have to figure how to turn it off if I don't want it on, other then that it is a great stereo.
