Windshield Help
I bought a 2008 Street Glide two weeks ago and am trying to get a windshield that will work with my size. I am 6'7" tall and have a stock seat. I had a wierd wind shield on it at first and it did not work so I went to a flat 8" windshield and I am still getting the helmet shakes. So a buddy of mind has suggested going with a Klock Werks flare windshield. My question is.... What are all the opinions on this windshield and what size for my size?
Thanks
Thanks
you may want to look at the helmet- it provides a profile double the size of your head and there is added leverage on your neck.
when in hostile territory I wear a HD branded 1/2 with a ducktail on the back.
if it the only helmet I have had that does not bobble or pull up on the chin strap.
2.) while most of us are shorter than you...I size my windscreen so that the top edge "appears" about 40' or 50' down the road.
that allows me to look over it, but tuck into it in crap weather ( can't do that with a recurve)
at 6'2" on a SG seat I use a 7" windscreen. the stock ultra is 10" which might put you pretty close.---( assuming the 6'7" is evenly split between torso and legs)
take off stock windscreens usually trade at about $35
