Default Navigation Interface Module

I purchased the Harley Davidson Zumo 665 and all the appropriate hardware to connect it to my 2012 Road Glide Ultra. After spending the better half of the day searching forums I have everything installed buy the GPS unit does not produce any audible signals. I have went over the 5 pins placed in the 35 pin connector to verify location and proper seating. I have tried toggling the the speaker switch but nothing. The GPS unit is working fine and I have the volume turned up all the way. Is the red led on the NIM suppose to be on at all times? it is not lighting up. One thing I noticed was that when I press the COM button on the radio it shows the message Com not installed. Is my NIM bad?

Not sure what to check next.

I'll share two things I learned when my NIM was installed and "wasn't" working.

I don't know how the speakers work on a Road Glide, but on my Ultra, the speaker switch has to be all the way back in the "All" position. Otherwise the GPS directions will only be heard through the headset.

Then, the only way to adjust the volume on the GPS/NIM is when the GPS is actually giving directions. Does the music mute when the directions should be heard? If so, that is when you want to hit the volume up button.

That was my problem, once I adjusted the volume all was well....

There is no way to select the NIM through the radio. It is automatic. If you select "Com", I believe that is the intercom.

Good luck......

I have tried all the positions on the speaker switch and even put on my headset but still no audible commands. I have a feeling it is in the NIM, and I was curious if the LED on the NIM comes on and remains on when the bike is powered up.
