Just curious what the value on my stock rims are. I've got a new leftover Road Glide on the way which'll be here in a couple of weeks. I am planning to move up to a set of Fat Daddy 50 wheels wrapped in Metzler ME880s and sell the Stock Cash Wheels and tires as a package. What are they worth? They'll prolly have a couple of hundred miles on them at most.
Picked up a set of laced w/o discs for a hundred each, not including shipping. Cast wheels go for about the same, maybe 150 or so with good (new) tires. Ebay prices.
[rant]Please don't call your beautiful Road Glide a "leftover". The RG is a sweet looking machine. I liken it's lines to a Victoria's Secret model, one sexy looking bike.[/rantover]
Now, can't answer about the wheels but good luck and I did come l--l close to buying aRoad Glide.

I just bought a spare rear wheel and tire on Ebay from an HD dealer, a new-bike pull, for $220 shipped. The front, which I didn't buy, sold for a bit less than that, around $200 IIRC. These are fairly common and not going for anything near retail ($500 for the rear wheel alone, no tire), so I presume some SG owners are not happy with the stock wheels. Personally, I like them.
Do an Ebay search on "FLHX wheel" and "Street Glide wheel" and you'll get some hits, then click on "Completed Auctions" in the left column to see recent finished auctions.
sold mine for a $100 to the guy who put the spokes on my bike---could have gotten more but i did not want to be concerned with shipping etc. plus the guy really appreciated it.
Personal experience and those from a few others here: You're looking at getting about $300for the set, wheels and tires only. No pulleys, no rotors.
If you're buying from a dealer perhaps you can work a deal to get the new wheels and tiresfrom them in exchange for a discount/credit on your stock wheels and rubber. Worsethey can do is say no.
