Just finished putting the Hayden in mine. Prior to the install, the chain was little loose with the OEM unit. Easy install and everything seems to be working just fine.
How does excessive chain slack during hard deceleration resulting in reported casing chain slap play into the Hayden? Wouldn't the Baker unit be a better unit?
I realize you have to remove the outer primary to adjusted, but how often would you need to adjust it..maybe every third or fourth oil change if its anything like my 98 EVO was which is pretty much the same primary?
I can't speak for the others, but the Hayden is spring loaded, so it adjusts for slack and improves gear changes, reduces primary noise and improves the riding experience. It is more than just a chain tensioner!
The Hyden is half the price as the Baker there is a reason for that. I do not like the idea of a spring trying to control my chain. With the Hyden it keep the slack out on throttle but when using the engine to brake or in other words let off the gas the slack in the chain is in the top of the chain. To make this easy on throttle top of chain on top side of sprockets is getting pulled tight and slack is in the bottom of the chain and the adjuster takes that slack out. When letting off throttle bottom part below sprockets is getting pulled tight with the spring loaded adjuster the spring gets mashed and on top of the sprockets you got a mile of slack in the chain. with the Baker you got the right amount of slack all the time 5/8 to 7/8 cold and 3/8 to 5/8 hot the way the things has been for years and you very seldom ever hear of a bearing failure like you do on the 2007 and up bikes. The Hyden is way better than stock but i would not put one in my bike i would pay 3 time more for adjuster that works like the 06 and back adjusters or the Baker adjuster. Just my .02 cent because i am probably the dumbest man to **** between a pair boots.

I've looked several places online and can't seem to find anyone with stock on these. Do you know where I can purchase one
