Default 110 Reliability

I am considering unloading my 10 SG with 20K miles and buying a CVO RG. Any word on the 110 motor as far as reliability?

Why, have you heard anything about it being unreliable?
All the CVO's come with this motor.. What does that say to you?
Kind of an odd thread..
Or did you just want to be sold on the 110 before you buy it, or?

The 110 pushes the envelope of the 100+ year old technology. The recent years have had casting problems and crankshaft issues. Is it more than the 96 and 103? Who's to say? What you would gain engine wise vs the 103 is negligible. The other goodies of the se bikes are extensive. I would still question the difference in cost. I'm sure others will jump in with some opinions as well.....

I happen to like the paint scheme a lot. Likely to be cheaper to take a stock RG and do it up but at the end of the day I think the SE will be sweet to own. I do put some miles on so I was wondering if the motor is durable. Thanks for your input.

The CVO 110ci is just as reliable as a 88-96-103ci, I've got several friends with CVO's and they put a ton of miles on them with no problems, 1 friend in paticular has a 2009 CVO Ultra with 93,000 trouble free miles, it's all in how you keep up the maintenance on any bike, sure all of them are going to have little things go wrong along the way and some things are just going to wear out because of mileage and use. Get the CVO if that's what you want, you won't be dissappointed!

I'll bet it runs hotter than does the 103's, 96's and 88's.

Own my second one. Buy it and ride with confidence. Most issues of the past were resolved. Can you run into a problem? Sure, but that can be said for all the models. Go for it. But if you do, IMHO to REALLY enjoy the 110 it will require an exhaust, tuner and I strongly recommend a cam change. Then enjoy

Easy to address with tuning.

My 120 has no overheating issues at all.

OP, get the CVO and enjoy!
