Default ignition switch problem

Put new bars on my 2011 SG. Now I cant get the ignition switch to work. I made an alignment tool out of copper tubing. Everything works with the tool ,bike starts, will go to all positions, but when I take it out and try to put the keyed lock in it wont do anything. Not sure what Im doing wrong. Very frustrating!!!!!!!! Suggestions would be appreciated.

yea, have watched it 10 times. Thats the tool I made. Guess I could ride around with a pipe hanging out instead of a key. It might come to that.

Walk away from it for the night, get some rest and refocus on it tomorrow. Sometimes that works wonders.

Good Luck

make sure you have everything oriented properly on the threaded shaft and don't have something upside down or 180* out.

You may have to make the tool a bit longer to get to the bottom switch. If I remimber it like 3 1/2" or 3/4"

Glad to hear you got it back together. I have had a few of those "over think it" moments myself.
