I was checking out Ultimate Seats' website the other day after reading another post and saw that they were offering a tourpak relocation plate similar to ones that people on here had designed and made themselves. I thought that for people that didn't want to spend too much(me) and who couldn't build it themselves(also me), it was a good alternative. I paid $86.20 shipped.
I ordered one and it came in today. It's a little cold out in the garage, so I haven't installed it yet, but it sets the tourpak back 2 inches(non-adjustable) and seems to be well-made. A magnet stuck to it, so I assume it's steel.
They are also having a 20% sale this month, so here's the link:
That's a good question, Pacman. I'm not really sure. It's at home. I'll take a look at it when I get home and try to give you an answer. If I were guessing, I'd say it was kind of a satin black powdercoat, but just guessing.
I'm ordering my seat monday while they have their 20% off sale going, I'll get the plate also if it's 20% off. I'm sure it is pc.
It sure looks to me like it's powdercoated. I just installed mine and it went very smoothly. Easy to install and should be very effective. If I could critique it at all, I'd say that the countersinks for the mounting screws could have been just a smidge deeper. After tightening, the heads of the screws still stick up about half a millimeter. No biggy, I just put a small square of tape over each head to cushion it a little. Probably the thickness of the powdercoat itself causing it.
Nice quality piece, and just the ticket in terms of price and purpose. The 20% sale should still be going on. I believe it was through the end of January.
I have the George Anderson kit but this one is half the price?
The George Anderson has more adjustability, and that's the direction I was headed when I saw this one. Nice and thin, too, maybe 1/4" thick, so it doesn't raise the TP up much.
Just placed my order, thanks for the heads up. I've used the George Anderson kit in the past and liked it, but I like the price on this one much better.
