Default Need Suggestions on bars

Looking for suggestions on what is more desirable if one were looking for a bike. I have a bone stock 04 R/K Custom that is an awful real red color. I am going to change to hard bags, and change the color to vivid black with OEM R/K tank decal that has the gold vee with diamond ice letters and the blue trim, It has a black 2:1 thunderheader with Ness filter, chrome legs, and its getting a set of passing lights, so basically its going to look like a R/K.

The OEM wheels would need to be rechromed so I have an almost new set of black 9 spoke or a set of streetglide wheels to switch out, havent decided yet.
So heres the big question, my sons are telling me to go with apes, one says 12" the other says 16". I am thinking 8.5 mini chubs or buckhorns. What is popular in the market these days?

I think the Carlini Design Gangter Apes are pretty good looking apes. They are anywhere from 12 inch to 18 inch and have the 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 thickness which easily allows for wires to be ran internally. Personally, I think that is the only way to go when looking for Apes. Goodluck!

I'm happy with the Road King Reduced Reach bars for comfort and no need to change cables etc... However the Carlini Gangsters are the best looking ape for a RK in my opinion also. That it the route I would go if I were to do it over again. 16"s for me at 6-1.

I have the Heritage Style bars on my Road King. They are really comfortable and cheap ($80), however, if I were to do it over again, I'd be looking at the Carlini 12'' apes. Carlini bars have style for sure.

www.vindikta.com

Little known secret but the best all around bars out there these days IMHO.

Joe will build 'em to your specs if you prefer something unique & one-off.
