Default Handlebar Advice

So I have had my bike for about 3 months now and still have the stock chrome mini apes. They are fine but I do want to do something in black and would like a more aggressive style. I am having trouble deciding between going with a more aggressive looking ape or a t-bar set up. I know a lot is personal preference but I haven't ridden with t-bars before and I don't know if they are more or less comfortable than apes? Same thing for a little bigger ape. First Harley for me so I don't have much to compare to. I'd like to hear the input from any long time riders that have tried both and get your opinions.

i had T bars and i had apes... finally decide to have Hogrida.com custom make me a set of apes with the same exact hand possition as a set of T bars... took a ton of time to design them, sent him the specs and he made it happen. does awesome work... they took me FOREVER to design but i love them! come up with something customer and get in contact with him. we have coated a few sets of bars he made for customers... on thing i will say i did not think of how hard internally wireing these would be, took me about 10 hours to get the wires though both sides, was a nightmare, but that was all my fault in the design not his at all, actually it speaks to how well he did weld them that i was able to feed all that wire though the bar at those sharp angles

the biggest advantage of an ape over a tbar is you can move the apes forward or back to get more comfortable. the tbar is a fixed structure.

as for comfort its all personal. do you want to lean into the bars. do you want to lean back. are you more comfortable with hands at shoulder or above/below.

i ride a fatbob and love the drags . now if i had a wideglide i could see some tallish apes wrenched back for lazyboy mode.

they are 8 inch mini apes, and although that does'nt sound very high they are just the right height. and i'm 6'1. and like the other guy said, you can move the forward or back depending on where you want them. you could also add a set of two inch risers or more if you want them higher. i love them and they look great with just enough pull back that the grips are'nt turned inward to much. i saw them on another guy's bike on here in the pictures link. you could always look on there for ideas, plenty of street bobs on there with apes of all different sizes.

Here's a pic of the R6C 8" mini-apes I had on a 3" riser. They're great for the money, but for rock solid stiffness, T-bars are the way to go. Just depends on your preference and riding style.

I still have these packed up in my garage, if anyone wants them shoot me a PM. I'll make you a deal on them and the risers.

My new bars don't have bends as aggressive as yours Joe, but I spent about 4 hours on the left side before I came up with this idea: a really long zip tie, which is then itself ziptied to the molex connector with a mini-tie. Then smooth and taper the whole thing out with tape and heat shrink. It's rigid enough to push but pliable enough to pull around the corners. The right side only took me a few minutes this way.
