Was at the York plant on Tuesday for the factory tour; went to York for a work trip and was psyched to tour the HD factory. Damn tour was partially closed b/c the new models were being built so no one was allowed to see the last half of the tour where they assemble. New bikes get presented to dealers on the 18th of August.
Sooo close to seeing the '14's, then denied! Didn't see anyone carrying around radiators, so that was a good sign.
When is the dealer show? Wouldn't they release the new bikes then?
Dealer Show is Aug 20 I think and that is when they will release the new models.
We may be in for a surprise with water cooled heads this year. Its interesting that the info has not popped up on the California CARB List. Usually every year they submit the engine specs to the ARB by June and that is the first leak of what the models are and size of engine. So far no release to the Calif ARB
The dealer show slides are usually pretty interesting on changes made to the new models. Nice to see the internal tweaks being made to the models that are not readily apparent seeing a picture or feature listing. Anywhere those will show up after the dealer show?
I have been to Sturgis few times but not since 2010 and every year Moco has all the new models and new products on display and last year few models were released to the dealers way before the the annual new model show. This year is very hush hush which makes one wonder about how BIG the changes are coming.

wouldn't that be only if they were making changes to the engine size or configuration
I think its a safe bet to assume the engines will be exactly the came engine they ran last year & that's why there not up on the CARB listing

Regardless of change or no change they have to submit to the ARB prior to release date in California. The list did just come out with the 2014 HDs on it and it looks like there is no change in engine size or design.
Dealers are getting the bikes on the 19th. I saw the manifest at my local dealer, they are getting about 20 bikes on the first shipment. 14 of them were street glides.
