Use Mobil 1 and change when I get around to it if the weather permits...

 

Castrol 20-50 gtx +filter same in the primary, 75-90 in the transmission every 5K or annually.

 

I switch from Syn 3 to Redline oil. I have much better shifting and clutch engagement with the Redline product. I change oil at or before the 5k interval.

Switched to Mobil 1, every 5k new oil and oil filter (I use Mobil 1 in primary and Redline SP heavy in tranny). SJ Ron

 

Switched to Amsoil in the engine and primary, Amsoil Severe Gear 75-140 in the trans. Engine and primary every 5K, trans, never.

 

Change mine about once a year and the filter ever other time. However I'm down to about 5-7K a year. Had SYN 3 for 30K and is good stuff but to save a few $ I now use 20-50 Mobile 1 in engine and Formual + in other 2 holes. Bike has 40K and still runs like new. Compression is perfect. Do not need it to last forever.

 

People don't read. The OP said

He didn't ask about Mobil 1, HD Dino, Redline.... He asked about people's experience with Syn 3. That's all he wanted. The rest is just wasted bandwidth.

Mobil 1 in the engine 4 to 6 K miles with new filter depends on local or long distance rides Red line in the transmission every 15K miles and for primary Harley primary oil every other oil change with 74K on my UC no oil problems.

 

Mobile 1 V-Twin. 5,000 miles or 6 months.
