We tried installing a new ECM unit in my 96 Electra Glide with the Magnetti Marelli injection system and the bike would not even try to fire... There is also a stage one upgrade on the unit and we are just looking for hints... Anyone?

 

Crank sensor. Try cleaning it and see what happens

 

We put the old ECM back in and the bike fired right up .. So I just wasn't sure if the unit has to be programmed to the bike..

 

If its a new HD ECM talk to the dealer that sold it to you to see if it needs marrying to the bike. What was wrong with the old one?

 

Nothing , the newer one just has the stage 1 upgrade on it...
