Stocker is a good plate and the SE plate is overkill in a 07+ bike, but that being said I just ordered one along with the Zippers dual piston tensioners.

The billet CAM plate will produce just as much sacrificial metal loss at the shaft end as the stock plate. There's nothing in the billet plate to reduce wear do to out of run out shafts. The structural strength of the billet plate allows the transfer of stress to other parts of the engine since it flexes less.....but...the generally accepted view is that having flex is good and helps prevent crank and bearing issues. So if you have a welded crank and T-bearing upgrade, then moving to billet cam plates and billet rocker arms makes sense. if you do not, the stress has to transfer somewhere........

You don't need one,but they do also help with better oil pressue and flow.
