Default S/e Billet cam plate ?

I have an 06 tc88 .
Is this upgrade mainly to run gear cams ?
I'm on the fence between upgrade oil pump/chain type vs gears .
Is the upgrade cam plate used to deal with run-out issues?
I'm trying to hash out the costs.
Thanx

I believe it uses the new hydraulic chain tensioners used on all post 06 engines. If you're refering to crank runout, the only remedy for that is a properly trued crank.

Are you asking about the SE billet cam plate 25282-07 or the SE hydraulic tensioner upgrade kit 25284-08? If you have crank runout at .003 or less than you could go gear cams and could simply use your existing plate. If you go with the tensioner upgrade kit it gives you a better oil pump, a plate, etc.

Oh wait, I reread your post and it appears that you are asking about the plate to run gear cams. It does not address/correct crank runout. You would still need to be within spec or have it trued if out of spec. I would suggest the hydraulic upgrade kit if you are not within spec.
