Default cam question

Hi all i have a 2011 flhx 96ci/ se air cleaner and v/h power duals with demon cycle 3'' sliponns /pcv with auto tune . I am looking for a little more snap when i hit the throttle and was thinking about upgrading my cams Now im no mechanic and would need to drop the bike off .Anyone know a ball park figure of what this will cost me or if this is the best rout to go .I see the advertisment at the dealership for the big bore kit and that seems to be a little more than just cams and the price is just under 3,000 Thats a little more than i would like to spend

An alternative to what your dealer is offering is to look for a local tuning shop, or contact one of the HDF sponsors. There are various ways of improving performance, from simply replacing the cams, adding a few more cubic inches (which comes with increased compression as well), to porting your current heads. Far better to find someone you can talk to and learn what can be done. If you let us decide, we'll be emptying your wallet!

You can get a Power commander and a set of let's say Andrews 48H or Screaming Eagle 255 or Woods camsinstalled for about a Grand...I bought a PCIII for around $200 and a set of Andrews 26H for about $150 and installed them myself...i am sure you could pick up a Power Commander V and a set of cams for about $500 and get an indy to install and maybe dyno for another $500-$800..????That will give you the extra snap you want...
My 26H gave me the low end grunt i was looking for when riding in the hills and has the ooomph to make my take offs a bit snappier...
My *** dyno noticed it...
The choices of cams will make you head spin...

Plus or minus $1000 I would say. I had 255's put in last year at the dealer for around that figure.
