Default Progressive 440's

Just put my Progressive 440's on my Ultra.

What's a good 2-up load setting for starters?

They're set to the softest setting now, just wondering where the "average" was.

I had mine on 10 turns for 2 months.
Now I have them on 7 turns.
I am 200 pounds and the wife is 180 pounds[sm=dontgetit.gif]
I have the "Heavy Duty" shocks also.
Do you?

Heavy Duty springs... no turns solo and 2 up, 3 turns fully loaded and 2 up. I love 'em.

On a scale of say 1 to 5 (5 being hardest) how hard a job was this install?

Hey Phil welcome back

Remove the saddle bags and unbolt the old shocks and undo the air lines.
How about a 1
You may need a small jack to use under the swing arm.

I installed my set of HD 4th of July weekend and haven't touched the preload yet. Solo & loaded or 2 up no bottoming. I'm trippin solo this weekend, I may try 2 clicks to see the difference.

Markcuda,

You say 7-10 clicks. You talking about seeing 7-10 hash marks on he top of the shocks? I am also 200# and I feel the softest setting can be pretty harsh in the rebound at times. Still not as harsh as the air shocks.

What I did when I got mine was "Unscrew" the shock all the way out.
I put a dab of white paint on the top of the shock.
Then I made 10 turns, I think there is about 6 threads showing.
I hope this helps.

I would say a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5.

I did put Heavy duty on mine.
