Default Fbw ??

I am in the process of installing my new apes on my SG and have a ?. The FBW has two extra wire with black plugs on it, what are they for? do I need them for anything? Another thing should I leave the green plug or do away with it?

Thanks Boo

Yep, those are the heated grip wires. I just did a set of LA Chopper prime apes on my bike. I went ahead and ordered the Screaming Eagle (CVO) Twist grip sensor kit (TBW).
It is extra length, comes with the ends already to put the plug on with no soldering or splicing.

Looks to be long enough for up to 16" bars maybe. Mine are 13" and there is at least 3" or so extra length if I needed it.

I took several peoples advice and chose to buy the CVO kit and NOT solder or splice the TBW wires. If something goes wrong with one of those splices while your on the road, you are SCREWED big time!

The switches and controls you can limp on home but the TBW fudges up and your on a tow truck unless you can pull the bars off and rewire it out on the road!

But anyway, yes, those black wires are for the heated grips and I left mine unplugged hanging loose in the bars with the plug on it.
Why they didn't make them the same length as the TBW wires, I have no idea, it makes it a bitch to re-wire the grips.

Here is a picture of how long the CVO TBW wires are after running thru the 13" apes.
These are solid wires with no splices and the pins come already crimped to the wires. Once you pull then, simply put the wires in the plug in the correct order and lock it down.

They look long enough to do 14"-16" apes maybe?
