So I stopped by alocal sdealer today and they had a Screaming Eagle Roadking on the floor. I have been wanting a new front wheel for my 08 Ultra, and notce the one on the Roadking, which is factory. After some research in the catalogue, it says this wheel will only fit 09 and up. My question is this, if other wheels listed will fit somewhere around 00 and up bikes, why would this wheel not fit my bike? Just curious if anyone would happen to know.
It should fit OK, it's just that the wheel is a different diameter & will require a new tire, it will even fit on 00-07 if you change to the newer 25mm axle & spacers.
DTTJGlide,
Thanks for the info. I did know that the rear wheel was wider. Maybe since that only the front wheel fits my bike, they only list it as 09 and up. I am going to stop at the dealer and ask a few more questions.

Agreed.

Good luck with that... dealer is not usually a helpful source for this kind of information. For the average dealer employee, if the book says it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. Too much trouble to find the correct answers.
In this case, as long as you have the right axle, sleeve and spacers, the wheel will work perfectly. And come to think of it, didn't the change to 25mm axle occur in 2008? If that is correct, it should go right on with no axle change needed.
Factory info is intended for straight replacements, in other words in this case will the wheel swap straight over? Our challenge as owners is identifying what we can do by swapping other parts as well, to make it fit! Some things as mentioned above are easy, some need a bit more creativity, but can still be done.
