The stock air suspension sucks, so I'm looking to upgrade withtout spending too much. So far I've heard about Progressive 944 but they are pricey and also the 440's. I have come across numerous air suspension kits on ebay, which you can adjust your ride to your liking for under $600 or so. Thats my budget Any other recommendations?

Good luck with that... Progressive 440s or SE shocks are as cheap as ya can get away with imho. Forget about air shocks unless ya just like to drop it to the weeds when ya park.

 

Get a hold of HD Dude, Jim at Metal Dragon. He recommends Suspension Technologies shocks that are very reasonably priced.

Sucks really how so? I think it rides great! This is my 4th Harley best riding one to date.

 

you want a cheap upgrade for the rear? drain the stock oil and put in 7wt (ATF fluid)...world of difference for about 5 bucks

if you want new shocks, check ebay and craislist for used deals

 

The 944's are $549 bucks shipped to your door.....Under your budget.

I agree, especially when riding two up.

Enough air to ride good it would bottom out. Enough air not to bottom out it would ride rough and rebound like crazy. Never could find a happy medium.

I came across a good deal on some very slightly used 940's from a forum member. The 940's is one of the best upgrades I have done to the bike. The ride when one up is greatly improved, the ride two up is unbelievably better.

In my opinion get the 944's, or you may be able to find a good deal on some left over 940's.
