I changed the oil in mine (rear shocks) to synthetic transmission fluid and took off the air crap and installed a schrader valve in each one. I use the fancy Harley air pump and filled each one to about 20psi when riding 2up. Been riding it like that for a year now with no complaints.
I am a big boy (300lbs) and a 150 lbs passenger, 2007 FLHX w tour box and bags full most of the time, with 440s and I have no problems. I like them way better than stock.

tried to PM you but I couldn't... Since I'm a rookie when it comes to doing DIY on my Harley. Any detail step by step instruction as to how I can get this achieved?

Thanks~ Pm if you wish...
remove the brass fitting and turn the shock upside down. then pump it manually.
i used a syringe to refil it...its a painstakingly slow process fyi
I did this method for draining. it is a mess fireaxe... Another easy way I found it mount the shocks upside down. hook up air lines. leave one air line not in all the way. pump air into it.. the oil comes spewing out... didn't have to pump much really.. it kinda siphoned itself out! once it starts dripping, it keeps going! I didn't get a PM but everyone since has covered it. It's a pita to get the old oil out so just be patient and catch it in a container so you can measure what came out. The only thing I did different was use a clear plastic ketchup bottle from walmart (the kind you might see on a table at restaurant) to fill them back up with the same amount that came out.
