OK it has been two weeks since the accident. My wife and I are doing fine, and thankful it wasn't much worse. My lip is looking good, although I think there will be some long term scaring. Nationwide personal injury guy has been easy to deal with since I am sure his function is to make sure I don't get an attorney. Pennsylvania has a two year statute on personal injury claims, and this is not a big money settlement.

As far as my motorcycle, and NATIONWIDE, they are difficult. It has been two weeks, and I still have no money for repairs.(Check is in the mail since Tuesday) No money equals no parts, no parts equals my bike sitting. They did authorize me a rental for fourteen days, and are going to evauluate my need for a rental every fourteen days. I am trying to get them to streatch out the next rental time longer so I do not need to go an hour away to resign a rental contract. This is a pain in the ***, but at least I have wheels and have been in the wind.

The damages totaled over 11k, including a new frame, and front end. I am very confident in my dealer the bike will look like new when it is finished. They had another bike with a frame swap repair. I saw the bike on the lift, the frame/tins/plastic on the ground next to it, and the bike looked factory new. Of course I am going to change some things, like a chrome front end with the double cartridge kit. Plus LED, Auxilary, and passing lamps on the front end(already had LEDs all the way around as my winter mods), so gonna let the insurance eat some of cost.

Things that I will keep in mind in the future are there is no telling what someone is going to in a vehicle you are not in control of.

I would like to appoligize a head of time if I mispelled something, or phrased something that could be taken in multiple ways. Please if it can be taken two diffrent ways, error on the side of what you would be trying to express.

Glad ya'll are doing o.k. I dropped Nationwide years ago. They had my old '73 Olds insured for years, and actually called me up one day and chewed me out for not insuring my bike and 2nd car with them, I told them I would resolve that situation for them and cancelled the policy on the spot.

As long as they allow the rental....see no cause for complaints or concern. Don't think for a second that personal injuy adjuster isn't talkng to the repair fella....could be why their being so resonable in allowing you the rental bike so long. Hangin there.

Have you ever had an accident? Do you know why it's called an accident?
People screw up, and sometimes that hurts other people. It doesn't mean they're trying to kill someone.

know why police don't call them accidents? cause it wasn't. it was a collision. someone did something stupid and it could have been avoided.

Feel your pain and frustration (see my post today Sad Day). My 01 UC was totaled, insurance at first said I was at fault by not maintaining adequate distance. What BS when someone takes your adequate distance away. After the revised accident report insurance is now pursuing a claim against the SUV driver. Hopefully I get my deductible back. Glad to hear injuries to you were minor. This had made me be 100 times more vigilant in the truck or on a bike. And for all who think about giving up riding, are you still driving your cager (lot's of people die each day) even with air bags and all the other safety stuff
