Looking for a single seat with backrest. Have it narrowed down to the Lepera Monterey or the Mustang Solo 79601. Anyone with either seat? No place local for me to try either out so seeing what those who own either seat thinks.
If you are looking for comfort go with the Mustang. If you are going for looks then it doesn't matter, just choose which ever one looks the best to you.
Both comfort and looks. Have a lepera bare bones on my 08 chrome ***** fatboy and it looks good but not at all good for my back. So looking for comfort and also good looks. Both the Monterey and the Mustang look similar so who builds the better seat?
Only have used a Mustang seat on our old soft tail, but we loved it. A great product that held up just great and the back rest was a life saver on a long trip. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good quality seat. Good Luck !
Mustang Solo WITH BACKREST here. Did one trip almost 9K last year and I don't ever remember thinking about being sore. The backrest is a must for comfort and long distance.
HD has some new seats you can test. It's always best to try before you buy if possible. I was lucky and the Mustang worked for me.
Good luck

Ran a Lepera Monterey solo on my Glide for many years. It was a very good seat, had a lot of support and was made very well. It held up great to a lot of miles, weather and wear and tear. Also liked that I could call Lepera directly and discuss what modifications i wanted done to the seat before is was finished. They customized it exactly the way I needed it, no complaints as all with them.
Also ran several mustang seats on my other bikes. They are a very well made seat and very comfortable. They may offer customizing services now, but did not offer them back in the day, so I tailored them to suit my needs on my own with a local seat place.
