Default Fairing repair

Is there a kit to replace the threads for mounting the outer fairing? I cross threaded one of my inserts. When I try to look it up, all I find are for the windshield.

The HD Some replacement inserts will fix your problem. Remember to get new screws. Some people order a tool screw the new inserts.

I stripped one out years ago and have tried and tried to use epoxy to repair it with no joy. I have some plastic repair goo that I am going to try during the lockdown. Will keep you posted.
It has been a challenge.

If the plastic is still intact, just cross threaded, and you don’t want to wait for a order to come in. You can use plastic zip ties, get one that can fit in the existing screw hole, maybe have to fold it, depends on how stripped it is. I normally install the fairing, when I get to the offending screw I slip in the zip tie, mark the depth, cut, and insert the cut piece. Now when you install the screw it will have material to grip against. It may take some experimenting to get it right. FYI, this works great for stripped wood screws as well.
