I have searched here and the web and I can't find a decent water resistant handlebar mounting system for an iPhone 4. I want to use map software that will talk through a bluetooth dongle I have on the radio. I would need to be able to use the screen through the mount. I am looking for a tight hinged case, not a sewn one where the phone can slide around inside.
There is a fairly good phone holder on ebay but the mount tabs are flimsy.
I looked into the ones I found on a search here and didn't find anything water resistant.
Thanks gang, hopefully someone knows of a great one - my birthday is tomorrow and my Wife just asked me what I want...

Lifeproof makes a handlebar mount phone holder. You may want to look into them.
Too flimsy IMO
It is meant for bicycles and low speeds. Rider claw is superb at holding the device in place.
Also it mounts directly on to the handlebar. In a fairing bike is tough to get the mount correctly positioned. That is why I like the riders claw. It mouts to the switches housing.
I use a Ram mount for the iPhone and if it starts to rain I just slip a "Zip Loc" bag over it.
Zip it up as much as you can, water can't get inside at this point.
If it is raining so hard that this isn't good enough for you its time to pull over anyway.
It is not flimsy at all when mounted, i have rode 4,000 miles with mine and extremely pleased. mine is mounted on the left side, I hid the power and aux wires under faring, the aux plug screws into the phone and is water proof. I use the google navigation and pandora, siri tells me turn by turn thru the radio.
** the tab where you charge the phone will not open in the holder, i cut a 1/4 " of the case on each side nd works great !
+1 for the Lifeproof case and handlebar mount. Six hours in the rain on Memorial day with no problems. I took a die grinder to the mount to enable the charging cord to be plugged in while the phone was in the mount. Still seals well.
