Default Removing CB/intercom advice please

I have a 2000 Ultra Classic that has a CB/Intercom that I never use. I ride solo 100% of the time. When I do ride in groups we go over the basic hand signs, because normally I'm the only one running a CB/intercom.

I'm getting ready to replace my radio & though well sense I'm in there might as well clean it up. Remove the extra harness for the CB/intercom.

Looking at the wiring for plug #28 is all the ultra crap, plug 27 is the basic radio. That needs to stay for the converting over to the upgraded radio?.. or am I off base on this one? I know I'll lose hand controls unless I use the biketronics kit, which is my plan. I just really have no need for the CB/intercom.

I'm also changing over my gas tank console too, so that is another reason I am thinking or removing it.

Thanks for any help or just thoughts.

1. There is no CB/intercom to remove, those are inside the head unit you remove.

2. Yes, you'll need the 27. And unless you want to rewine to re-wires from a new HU to the rear speakers, you can use your existing wiring.

I knew the CB/intercom was in the head unit, wasn't clear thats my fault. I mean the part of the wiring harness that runs the intercom & head set up plug-ins. Will removing them from the harness cause any issues I should know about.
