Question Missing Plug from Cam access???

I was cleaning my bike (2013 FLHTK) and noticed some oil on the frame under the cam access. I was not too concerned as the cam was just upgraded less than a week ago and I figured the tech just didn't get the frame clean. (no oil on the garage floor) Then I noticed a small threaded hole on the underside of the bike right under the cam area. This is directly above where the oil was located. Does anyone know if there was supposed to be a plug or something there? Attached is a pic of the under side of the bike (cam side).

Yes. Pretty sure there's supposed to be a plug in there. I'll check my bike in the morning but if that were my bike I wouldn't ride it again until I knew for certain.

Thanks. I would appreciate if you would look and let me know for sure. Mine is definitely not going anywhere until I know for sure.

I'd also check all 3 holes to make sure they have enough oil in them.

i think if you look up in there you will see a plug if it were not there i think it would be gushing oil. if you over tighten this plug you can and will crack your engine cases.

Just a suggestion. Why dont you go on Ronnies HD site, view the parts manual and see if you can find if that hole has a plug that goes in it. If it does, you already have the part number you need for a replacement. Or since its not leaking bad, take it back to the dealer and let them look.

By the size of that opening, you would have dumped all your oil out by now if it's a direct path into the cam chest. Check your oil level to be sure.....

JUST CHECKED MY BIKE, NO BOLT or SCREW IN THAT OPENING....IT'S OPEN LIKE YOURS

Thanks for checking. I had a chance to look a little close with a mirror this morning and it definitely does not go all the way through. It must be a for some kind of a bracket on other models or something. Oils levels are all good. The oil on the frame looks like just some residual from the cam change.

Thanks for the tip. I had never heard of Ronnies HD. I just went and checked out how you can pull up the drawings and P/N's and such. Nice Find. I bookmarked it for future reference!

Believe that hole is for the Dyna mid control footpeg bracket or it could have been for an exhaust bracket --- I recall it on my Dyna Sport but forget which it was
