just did some quick math - finance {$26,047 less 10% (2,604)} $23,443 at 0% for 60 months ( 5 years ) comes out to $390.71 a month. Then there is insurance on top of that...
Better be a real nice ride
Money's not an issue. The deal is. When the salesman says everything is ready and you've talked about it and nothing is mentioned and you get there and it changes. thats what pissed me off. Paying $500 a month is no problem and i dont buy a bike and worry about the resale. I want to enjoy it.
A SG is $18,380 MSRP . Alarm system. Accessaries $21,380 then tax. Thats a common price I thought.
He wanted me to pay
$18,380 MSRP SG
$530 Freight
$340 Dealer prep.
$380 alarm system
I think the best thing it to shop around and sell my trade in out right . Find a dealer that has a SG in stock and WANTS TO DEAL.
HD probably wanted the additional money because you were "upside down" in your trade.I betif your beacon had been over 700, or 725, it would not have been an issue. You would be surprised the difference that just 3 more points would make. Did you try to go with a different company, i.e. credit union? You should have several options, but the beacon may limit you with some of the banks with the lower rates. Don't get me wrong, 697 is not a bad beacon, but a little higher beacon could give you a few more options and better rates. Your finance person should be able to explain this better to you. If you did need just another 3 points for more options, did they pull all 3 bureaus to see if one went over the 700 mark?
I traded in a 98 FXDL at Pat Rogers near Charlotte last year and bought a 2006 Street Glide. They gave me $9500 for the trade and I owed $9300. I put down $1000.00 and walked out the door financing $19400.00. They got me on interest though because my payment is $347 for 84 mos. @ 12%. My credit score floats between 680-720 but I have a high debt load. It's financed through Harley Credit.
let the rest of the customers in the showroom know how they sold your bike out from under neath you and they will do what ever it takes to shut you up and move the deal along. If no luck try another dealership. make sure you fill out the survey from harley after the deal is finalized and let them know all the details of the bad service.
26K FOR A STREET GLIDE????? Holy crap!! Around these parts you could have 2 bikes(ya,used,so what) for that kinda dough. That's WAAAAAY too much for that bike. My 05 Electra-Glide Classic with Pearl paint, profile wheels, alarm, tax, freight, prep, OUT-THE-DOOR was 20,500.[sm=noooo.gif] don't do it...
You should shop around a little, I bought a new '06 SG in Dec. for 17,500 out the door with security. I had no trade, and that deal was made thru e-mails. I never went to the dealer until I went to pay for the bike (2 weeks later) and then they delivered for free a 100 mile away.
