Make 100% sure you only run Formula Plus from now on. SE Comps have a reliabilty issue due to how they are designed. We have found that even for HiPo builds, we still run Formula+ when a SE comp is involved. ATF, other fluids, etc... even Redline... does NOT have the additive package needed for this comp. Formula+ does, tho.
Please have a lot of enjoyable miles... I am right up the road on 250!
That's the first I've heard of that. I always run Formula+ in the primary and will probably change out the primary fluid after a few miles just for good measure. I'm not sure what fluid my Indy dumped in. Invoice just says "primary lube". Thanks for the tip. I spend of lot of time riding 250 north to Sandusky and south to Wheeling and beyond. Seems like no matter where I'm headed, I start out on 250.
Turned out to be weak compensator spring(s). Installed the SE compensator assembly and voila', no more high rpm chatter. The SE comp. is generally more noisy than the OEM, but at least it doesn't sound like it's going to fly apart like before. Money well spent and thanks to all for the advice.
Correction - the SE compensator is NOT generally more noisy than the OEM one. You just have to tighten up the footboard bracket that the Indy forgot to put a wrench on when he reinstalled it. Much better.

I would be interested in an additive fact sheet on the Formula+, this is the second time Ive heard it said the SE comp likes that fluid (DAWG said it also)....Im guessing its a mixture from someone else with the HD label on it.....DAWG any way to get us an additive factsheet?
