Default Is it a problem

After a 700 mile ride last weekend, I started out for a ride wednesday and noticed my oil pressure was fluctuating between 30 and 60 on the road. It has never been more than 30 while running since I bought it i 04.

Is this a problem and if so, what is it?

not very mechanical(dealer loves me), but i think there is a pressure gauge that you can attach directly to your engine for an accurate reading. could be the gauge, a sensor, the sending unit, or it could be a problem. have you checked for codes to see if they indicate a problem? hang on for a little while, and one of the harley gurus is bound to have some good ideas.

I think the bypass would open long before you reach 60 psi. Was it needle 'bounce' or a steady sweep of the needle? My money is on the gauge.
