Default my road king is leaking oil the day before im supposed to sell it!

Ive had the bike (an 02 road king classic) for four years now and Ive never had an issue and then today, after a ride, I noticed oil leaking from the bottom, dripping. the bottom of the bike is wet with oil. there isnt a huge puddle but enough to have noticed that the bike was probably leaking over night and I just didnt notice it when i went out this afternoon.

I want to take it in to have them look at it and whether I keep the bike or sell it, I will have to cover the cost of the repair either way. Im selling to a friend so I dont want anything wrong with it.

any suggestions concerns advice would be very helpful as to what it could be. The bike had a 30k service last summer. It now has 37K on it. are there things that begin to wear around this time, gaskets, seals, etc? Im not much of a mechanic when it comes to bike repair so any advice would be helpful. The Harley service is about a 20 mile ride from me - will the bike be ok riding that far in the am?
Thanks guys.

I'd clean everything off and see if I could spot the leak. Could be a loose drain plug. Top off the level and ride it in if I needed to.

The tranny on mine was leaking from a bad o-ring on the drain plug. $0.08 fix.

As stated, check the easy things first. check the tightness of your drain plugs. clean it all up and look to see if you can locate the source.

Good advice, then check the levels and ride to the Dealer or an Indy.

Once you hose it down with degreaser, you can spray soft n dri deodorant on the bottom of the engine. It drys white. Go for a short ride. you'll know where it's leaking from when you get back. the deodorant washes right off.

If you plan to drive it i for service, make sure your oil levels are full and that theres no oil getting on the tires. You dont want an accident, if its not puking you can drive it that way the techs will have some idea of where its coming from. if its puking trailer it, you may do damage by the time you get there
