I have a good friend who happens to have a 07 Deuce; he installed the V&H short shots starters. Under the advice of some mechanic he never used a power commander or Fuel Pak, the mechanic informed him that a Fuel Pak wasn't needed and that he had installed hundreds of exhaust without much modification. Well, now the guy is running into issues w his bike, fault codes, etc, rough idling.
I posted a question earlier this week about his bike having some issues, "shutting off" while riding, during a stop, etc. We followed some of the recommendations, such as cleaning the IAC, etc etc. Bike started to run better after we performed the recommended troubleshooting. But he made a comment that he installed the exhaust and during the installation he never used the recommended Fuel Pak by V&H. So I'm guessing that the issue has to be that the ECU is not properly mixing the Fuel/Air or properly calibrating the mixture and probably the bike is running too lean. He said that he has been running that bike like this for the past 2 yrs and never had an issue.
