My favorite tourer's.
I am always seeing threads about road king vs street glide etc. So here is my "informed" opinion.
First here are the late model Harleys I have owned or own and I ride about 15k per year. We wont talk about the non-Harleys I have owned since 1976.

2007 SE Road king
2007 Street glide
2009 Ultra
2009 Police Road king
2011 Ultra limited
2013 CVO Road glide
1. No Harley comes perfect out of the showroom for the riders desired ergonomics. However unlike Japanese or british tourers, you can actually get a Harley pretty close to perfect.
2. I am 6'2" with long arms and have had to change shields and seats and/or handlebars on just about every bike. The ultra's have a pretty comfortable stock seat. The road glide has the best stock ergonomics for taller riders.
3. Yeah, I know all Harley tourers have the same underpinning but they all feel different. The batwing is really good for wind protection but dicey if you like to ride really fast and makes the handlebars feel clumsy at slow speeds. Road kings feel lighter and nimble like a sporty. Plus I love the classic cruiser look. The road glides shark fairing is love it or hate type of deal but you get the best of both (Ultra's and kings) in wind protection, tunes and on the roadglide, you actually have very convenient storage built in the fairing with the 2 glove compartments.
I like to keep atleast 2 bikes in the garage and I have somehow ended up with a king and a glide and that speaks for itself. I don't dislike the ultra's but I wouldn't get rid of either of my bikes for a batwing bike.

I agree with you! I love my SG but after riding a RG I really wanted one. However after having 3 bikes in the last 5 years I'm gonna stick with the SG and keep some marital bliss... Plus the fact, as you stated earlier, I finally have it set up perfectly for me and I don't want to start over!

I agree! RK lighter handling and poorer wind protection. EG heavier handling and good wind protection. RG good handing and wind protection. I gwas looking for a '09 up RG when I found a deal on '09 EG. Put all the wind deflectors and barn door on it to get rid of bad wind and it is pretty good but very heavy in the front. I keep thinking a sharknose would be a great mod. The wind on my RK is starting to bug me in my old age too...
