Congrats toyou and your wife 98rdking, My wife does not drive, she likes it on back but some of my friend wifes do drive. What helped them out alot is we all rode together for about a week. Some experenced riders up front then the new drivers and then the new drivers husbands would ride behind their wifes, that worked out great. They even said it helped them ease their nerves. It also helped them start out on short rides before church got out on Sundays.Be safe out there.

Congrats!!!! My wife took the course and three weeks later we did a 450mile one way week long overnight stay. She has a 2005 softail deluxe, we bought the bike new before she learned how. Our relationship has improved greatly becuase of the common interest we share, she is my best riding buddy!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to your wife. Scootergrrl recently got her mc license as well. I prefer to have her riding in front of me as she can set the speed and I can watch her more easily, but she prefers for me to lead quite often. I hate lookin in my mirror to make sure she is back there and okay. We have not had any serious problems as of yet, and I hope to kepit that way. Good luck.

I bought my first bike last April, an '06 Ultra Classic, and was taught how to ride after I bought it by my wife. My wife of 28+ years has about 20 years riding experience on every type of bike you can imagine, on and off the road. Even though she had not ridden in many years, she always encouraged me to just go buy one if that was something I wanted to do, so I finally did. After getting the besics from her I took the rider's course and maybe with 6 months of expereince she climbed on the back with me driving. Of course, when I wasn't looking my bike would disappear from the garage under her control.

It only took about 2 or 3 rides with her on the back, when I hear "this is boring, I want my own". We now own an '07 Softtail Deluxe in addition to my bike. Nothing like a $25k accessory you didn't plan on needing but there is nothing like seeing her smile when she's riding beside me now.

Congrats to your wife. You are a lucky SOB. I would just love if my wife wanted to ride herself but she does not and I have to be OK with that. I still consider myself lucky that she very much enjoys just being a passenger, so happy wife, happy life.

Grats!! That is awesome..

We had a small crash last year that put her off bikes for good (so she thought /evil grin)... but I managed to get her back on the back for Daytona. She wants to take the courses and all to ride her own also.. feels it will be safer to separate riders.. (thinks of crashing to much I think...) Part of me is like hell yea! The other part says.. man.. I don’t think I could make it thru any type of crash while she was riding side me...cagers are just to unpredictable...I think she can handle the riding just fine, its just the Aholes in cages that worries me..

I am still pushing her to do what she feels comfortable with.. figured to much pushing in either direction (passenger or driver) might turn her off of them. I too hope one day to ride next to my lady on her own hog...

And yea, nothing better for a relationship like riding together.. best therapy out there...
