I was suppose to leave to go on a trip tomorrow morning to the dragon, blue ridge parkway etc. I got a text today from the guy I was suppose to ride with saying that the trip was canceled. He planned the trip had the time share etc and had been down there before, all I had to do was follow along. I got all the time off work and scheduled with the family and now I don't know what the hell I am going to do. Would still like to take a trip but not sure what to do, especially since I would have to research and plan routing. Any suggestions?
All that planning as well as a place to stay. find your own way down and around. Will probably have more fun that way. No brainer. Enjoy. Wish I could go with ya
I just came back from riding the Dragon and the Rattler, we stayed in Maggie Valley, lots of nice little motels to stay in, ours was $59 a night, was called Travel Lowes, I would go, is beautiful there, I want to go back again, lots of bikers up there to talk to and hang out with, you won't be sorry, go man go!!! lol
Went there a few months back. I would definitely go. You can Google Map your way there.
The 1st night we stayed at the Deals Gap Motel on the Dragon. $59 a night, clean, decent food, cold beer (only beer in the area). http://www.dealsgap.com
In the evening everybody hangs out on their front patios. You will meet a ton of friendly people there and if you want can line up some rides with them.
If you think you may not get another chance to go there, do it, way worth it.
Mike,
Take a ride to the Tomahawk Fall Ride rally in Wisconsin this weekend, http://gototomahawk.com/Tomahawk-Fall-Ride-For-MDA/ You won't be disappointed. There are great riding routes along the Wisconsin river. The Main street parties are a must, Harley plant tours, Sarah park is a hot spot.
Looking for a place to stay, for camping, check out Bubba's http://www.tomahawkfallride.com/ , for hotels, check in the town of Merrill, just south of Tomahawk.
