What probably is a dumb question about tour packs?
Hey guys....I'm in the market for a road king or maybe an electra glide down the road....my question is about the tour packs....a lot of them I see have the cushion built in......my question I guess is two fold....
1.... Can u take that cushion off or is it built on to the pack....I didn't know if it was a separate piece
2 .... Can u mount the tour pack closer to the driver to use it as a backrest?
Thanks for any info...ryan

Yes and yes. You will need the 4 point docking hardware and a solo seat to run it was a solo.. You can order a TP with either the chopped or wrap around backrest. The mounting holes are in different places. If you take off the pad, there will be exposed holes.

without changing mounts (or buying a really expensive one) you aren't going to be able to switch from 2 up to one up. i have my tourpack in the solo position, and don't worry about a passenger. i never have one. the wife rides her own, with her tourpack in the solo position as well. if thats all you're going to mount, you can use the 2 pt docking hardware.
old bike and wife's bike with both tourpacks in solo position: (she had the danny grey seat with backrest, and mine had the chopped tourpack backrest. she has since gone with the corbin solo and the integrated chopped backrest)
