Default Rush Big Louies

Anybody have them on an Ultra, with the new 3" baffle? I've had them with the 2.5, and I like the tone & the loud. Is the 3" that much louder? Last spring I switched to V & H High Output slip-ons because I thought the tone was deeper, but they're not a lot different than Rush. They're pretty deep, but I could stand a little more loud. I think I'll go back to Rush Big Louie Slash Ups to try to match them up with my bags & fender. Might do the 3" baffle too. I also have V & H Power Duals, and got rid of the cat. 2011 Limited Ultra.

Subscribed as well. I just installed the Tip Compatable Big Louie's with 2.25 baffles and while pleased with the performance, I'm very disappointed with the sound level. Way too quiet for me. Not much louder than the stock mufflers IMO, and no where near the DNA megaphone slips I was running. At takeoff and cruise, they sound nearly like the stock mufflers. I'm also running the jackpot 2-1-2 header, so there is no cat restriction there. My wife even says they are too quiet and she hates loud pipes. Only 100 miles on them, maybe they will get louder, but I'm actually thinking of selling them and going a different route. Hate to start sinking money into baffles and still be disappointed in the sound level. As far as the 3" baffle, I thought they were recommended for exhausts with CAT intact? Check out Rush's section under forum sponsors for some posts about baffles. I read there were even some tuning issues with the 2.5" baffles and dyno tuning is recommended, which is why I went with the 2.25". If you do the 3.0" baffles, report back with your results. Other than that, Love the look and performance of the Big Louies!

Wow I thought 2.5 baffles on Big Louies were loud and hollow sounding, I went with the 2.25s on my last set. Can't imagine what a 3" would sound like. You guys must love loud that's all I can say. Problem is those big baffles gotta lower torque.

I have Rush Big Louie Slash Ups with 2 ½” baffles. I called Rush when I did my Stage 1 SE air cleaner and Cobra fuel management install. The Rush tech said the 2 ½" baffles are best for the stock pipes with the Cat still installed. I only turned the radio up one bar from the original mufflers. I’m very happy with the sound of the Rush Big Louie Slash Ups. They do follow the slant of the bags well.

Sorry, I can’t help you with the 3” baffles.

When I had the stock head pipes I had the 3.0 baffle in the Big Louie. Nice deep sound. Not obnoxious. Switched the head pipes to the Rush True Duals. Adam from Rush communicated that I should keep the baffle size to 2.25 or 2.0. I liked the sound of the 3.0. Like the sound of the True Duals and the 2.0 better. Relatively quiet at idle but wake up when you get on it. Not a real loud fan. Started out with the2.25 after the switch but changed to the 2.0. Loud enough for me.

Has anyone tried the difference between the 2.5 and the 3.0 yet ?

I thought with the cat still in that the torque would not be affected, correct me if I'm wrong.

I am also running Big Louies with the 2.5 baffle and the Fuel Moto 2/1/2 headpipe on My 2013 Ultra and It think they are fairly loud? A lot deeper than the stock headpipe and mufflers and when you roll into the throttle you can definately hear them!
