I have a set of BL's with 2.25" Baffles on my stock decatted head pipe, and running a Power Vision on my 2014 SGS. They sound pretty good to me but after a 100 plus miles my ears are feeling uncomfortable. Just thinking about this tonight so I can't call Rush at the moment.
Would dropping to a 2" baffle take some of the bark out,. making it easier on my old ears when riding longer distances? I'm really trying to avoid using ears plugs.
I pretty sure that I may lose a bit of performance but the 103 provides plenty of power as far as I'm concerned.
Also thinking about swapping back to my OEM mufflers, overall should they sound louder with the decatted pipe compared to stock?

I had a dyna that had rush slip ons on it with the 2.25 baffles and they had a little too much drone for me. I switched to 2 in baffles and there was a noticeable difference. Still a little drone but not like the 2.25 baffles. I would go to 2 in baffles and see if that helps.
I know this ain't comparing apples to apples but, I have the Big Louie's with
2" baffles in my '08 and don't notice any of the "droning" effects at all...
Granted I have the 96" with stock cams....so that could make a world of difference with the sound.....
I have the 3" Rush tubes with the 2" baffles, de-catted and cams. It is louder than before the install. I can think of three options. 1) Ear plugs. 2) 1 3/4" baffle but that probably will change your tune. 3) Thunder torque inserts will tone the sound down and may also mess with your tune.
I tried the TT inserts and never found I could get all the power back. Yes they toned the sound down, but I liked the power more. If I go out for more than a hour, I wear earplugs. I can still hear the music, but I have been looking at purchasing some Bluetooth earbuds. Should solve the dB problem of the exhaust and provide clean music....
Talked with CatFish from Rush today, he told me that they have a new longer in length and better sounding 2" baffle that they recently released #320200 replaces the existing #322012. Has anyone here installed the new baffle in their 4" BL's yet? How about feedback on your impressions of the sound and noise levels using the #322012 older style 2" baffles in your 4" BL's.
FWIW Catfish said that there could be a little better performance with the newer #320200 2' baffles in comparison to my set-up currently using the 2.25" baffles with a decatted head pipe????? I'm guessing that performance increase or decrease will or would be almost undetectable????
