Will I need any special tools or materials to install my 2-1-2 headpipe and air cleaner? Do you put thread sealant or neversieze on threaded sensors?Where can I find torque values for the involved fasteners? 2013 Ultra Limited
Special tools? Just patience. Torque settings are in manual. C5a anti seize always good around high temp stuff if you want to get them off easily the next time
I'm sure those with more experience will chime in but yes a remap is required. I have a good relationship with my dealer (which is uncommon for me) and have been looking at a similar upgrade, and a remap is usually required once you change both intake and exhaust. A buddy of mine has a FI 06 Road King that he bought with the stage one complete. Pulled the plugs on it a while ago and it's obvious they didn't do the re-map as the plugs are prematurely worn and while as a ghost.
I have different view on the anti-seize. Certainly use fuel injected safe anti-seize on the O2 sensors (if you replace them) but use blue loctite on everything else, especially the smaller bolts that have a low torque spec. It's a v-twin and likes to shake bolts loose. As well you have a dissimilar metal thing http://www.fastenal.com/content/feds...0Corrosion.pdf going on in most places. Both Anti-seize and loctite will interrupt the process but only loctite keeps the bolt in place while the engine tries to shake it loose.
the remap is required so that the engine doesn't run too lean which is damaging to the engine. Too lean means burnt valves and maybe other damaging effects.
Anti-sieze is a good idea on the header bolts. I'd also replace the crush gaskets on the heads. Make sure you have a good torque wrench. Watch some youtube videos, but I'd also recommend buying the manual if you plan on doing work on your bike.
I'd buy a tuner before you start installing anything. You'll be running way to lean with the full exhaust and air cleaner.
He has a Power Vision from Fuelmoto. Special tools would be torque wrench, thinwall socket for exhaust flanges, 02 socket. Antiseze in o2s. I use a little sealant on breather ports/bolts. Manual says exhaust clamps are one time use. Exhaust flange gaskets and a manual is a good idea too. Good Luck.
