Default Lowers

Because it is getting very warm here in Bakersfield, Ca. I took my lowers off the Ultra tonight. Must say I like the look and the wind blowing on my legs when I ride. I'm sure I'll be putting the lowers back on when it starts getting cold again. Who knows, Global Warming, Ha.

I took my lowers off just after I took ownership of my bike back in '02 and haven't had them back on since. I also like the wind on my legs and hopefully the cooling of the engine...

And yes, you have a nice look scoot there...

My lowers are very seasonal, on in October off in May. Otherwise, the 2 into1 pipe gets the right leg pretty hot.

I have hesitated taking mine off because I really like the looks of them ON instead of OFF and I always used to scratch them when I took them off my old '90 model Ultra. However, my '06 is one hot bike in the summer and if I want the wife to ride with me at all I'm going to have to take them off this summer. Anyone got a sure fire way to keep from scratching them except to be real careful?

Hey Bluebagger, we were in Yellowstone last august when there was a 100-110 degree heat wave in Montana, Idaho & Wyoming, we had hail & freezing weather one day in Yellowstone & the rest of the time were wearing our leathers due to the cold mornings, the weather there is much different than in the low lands, have fun.

I ride a classic, but most of the time I ride withother ultras, so I purchased a color matched set, perhaps in very cold they are ok, be otherwise I don't use. One day got caught in a quick shower with the lowers on and the only part of me that got wet was my lower legs???, since then I really don't use them much anymore.
