Default Grips

Thinking about a handlebar upgrade. Do I also need to factor in new grips? I currently have an ultra limited with heated grips. Can I simply remove them and switch them over or will they be damaged in the uninstall forcing me to purchase new grips?

If you take the left grip off first you will find the plug that goes to the right grip. Unplug the two wire plug then remove the right grip.
